Professor X.Q. Cai Elected AAIA Fellow
Prof. X.Q. Cai of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, was recently elected as a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), in recognition of his outstanding contributions to artificial intelligence as applied to industrial and systems engineering.
Professor Cai is Associate Vice President and Presidential Chair Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. His research is mainly in the areas of industrial and systems engineering, logistics and supply chain management, and intelligent scheduling and applications. He has published over 300 papers in academic journals, books, and conferences, including more than 100 papers in leading journals, such as Operations Research, Management Science, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, Naval Research Logistics, Production and Operations Management, IIE Transactions, IEEE Transactions, Transportation Science, and Transportation Research. He was the chair/co-chair for several international conferences, and a member of the organizing committee/program committee/advisory committee for numerous international conferences. He has been an editor/associate editor/editorial board member of several academic journals. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Young Scientist award (overseas category) from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the IEOM Award of Outstanding Professor in Logistics and Supply Chain. He is an Academician of the International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences, and a Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Engineers. He is also Vice Director of the Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data, and Director of the Shenzhen Key Laboratory for IoT Intelligent Systems and Wireless Network Technologies.
